About This Program
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Emergency Residency is a three-year, nationally recognized program offering 16 positions each year. We’re an Air Force EM civilian site, accepting one to two applicants yearly. We offer cutting-edge didactics, longitudinal clinical experiences (including pediatrics), high volume and acuity, ample elective opportunities and a comprehensive wellness program that includes a professional grants program allowing residents to explore their passion.
We have an Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Combined Residency, which is a five-year program focused on the treatment and management of critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine, simulation and ultrasonography. We accept two new applicants a year.
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center has a renovated 110-bed emergency department with oncology, hyperbaric oxygen (the only one in central Ohio), trauma resuscitation and imaging core pods. We are the only adult burn center in central Ohio, and we see 220,000 patients a year at our three major emergency department sites.
