About This Program

The Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital Adult Neurology Residency Program provides outstanding clinical training at a world-class academic institution. Our residency is hosted by Washington University, one of the top medical schools in the US with a strong and diverse tradition in neuroscience and by Barnes Jewish Hospital, a tertiary referral hospital that is consistently ranked in the top 10 in neuroscience. Residents work with both specialty and general neurology faculty and have up to 11 months of elective time in the PGY3 and PGY4 years, allowing residents to customize their experience based on their specific specialty interests and long-term career goals. The best thing about residency training at Washington University is the supportive and collegial environment. Faculty in our department and throughout the university are eager to work with residents as mentors, in the clinic and in the lab. Residents will also be surprised by Saint Louis, an affordable and enjoyable place to live.
