About This Program
The Neurology Residency Training program at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School prepares its residents for successful careers in clinical or academic neurology. Our residents develop clinical competence in treating a broad range of neurologic conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, headaches, neurodegenerative diseases, and movement and neuromuscular disorders in diverse patient populations at the University Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Hospital. The residency-training schedule allows for research and elective exposure in the PGY2 year, leading to a strong knowledge base early in your training. Full-time academic
neurologists teach residents in inpatient and outpatient settings, in a supportive and collaborative environment. The program embraces diversity, is supportive of resident academic development and overall wellness. Our residents are known for their superb teaching skills and involvement in medical student learning.
