Where You'll Spend Your Time
About This Program
The University of Chicago Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery training program provides an outstanding experience based on resources that provide breadth, depth, and volume of the entire spectrum of otolaryngology. Residents spend time at the University of Chicago adult and children’s Hospitals, as well as at NorthShore University Health system, a hybrid community setting staffed by fellowship trained otolaryngologists. Chief residents graduate with experience on more than 2,000 surgical cases, distributed over the entire range of the specialty. Education is provided by dedicated faculty in didactic lectures and participation in multiple instruction courses. For research, residents are encouraged to use the resources of the University of Chicago, which include internationally ranked programs in medicine, science, molecular engineering, bioethics, business, economics, law and public policy. We pride ourselves as being a closely-knit program with significant one on one interaction with faculty and a continuing interest in the resident’s well-being and success.
