About This Program
The University of Michigan Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery provides an exceptional residency training experience. Under the guidance of dedicated faculty, residents receive in-depth exposure to all facets of otolaryngology and develop skills that equip them to exceed the highest standards of patient care and research. The program trains five residents per year, with one trainee participating in the Advanced Research Training Program in Otolaryngology that affords an additional 12 months of research. Clinical rotations are primarily organized around subspecialty areas, utilizing a team based approach that fosters both faculty to resident and resident to resident education. In addition to the outstanding clinical education, the program affords all residents outstanding opportunities for research and career development. Our graduates are exceptionally well prepared to enter clinical practice, and are highly competitive when pursuing opportunities for fellowship training.
