About This Program

Houston Methodist Hospital, Department of Pathology and Genomic Medicine, in Houston Texas, an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College, offers ACGME-accredited training in combined anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP), in anatomic pathology (AP only) and in clinical pathology (CP only). Pathology residents are trained through graduated responsibility under faculty supervision to develop skills that will allow them to practice their pathology profession competently and independently upon completion of their training. Houston Methodist is the largest private academic tertiary care hospital in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), and is the primary teaching site for all of our programs. Rotations at other institutions in the TMC supplement the educational experiences for all of our trainees. Investigative opportunities are provided and encouraged, with residents expected to participate in scholarly activities leading to publication. A formal Methodist Pathology Resident Research Program (MPRRP) is also available, for highly productive careers in academic medicine.
