About This Program

The Pediatric Residency Program at LSUHSC-New Orleans is an excellent, challenging program that prepares its residents for a successful future in pediatric practice or academic medicine. Based at Children's Hospital, our program provides residents with a superior clinical experience and active teaching. The Department of Pediatrics is composed of approachable faculty members who are dedicated to the education of our trainees. Our continuity clinic is located in downtown New Orleans, allowing residents to provide thorough pediatric care for the medically underserved populations of the city.

Residency training can be a stressful time due to new responsibilities. Here at the LSUHSC Pediatric Residency Program, we focus on the individual resident and encourage professional growth in a friendly, supportive environment. Most students choose our program for the excellence in scholarship, complemented by a friendly environment…and many residents that train at our program find themselves calling New Orleans their forever home.
