About This Program

The Pediatric Residency Program at the Icahn School of Medicine and Kravis Children’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY City, provides a superb balance between primary care and subspecialty training in a rigorous and scholarly environment. We support a categorical, combined Pediatric-Medical Genetics, combined Pediatrics/Psychiatry/Child Psychiatry (Triple Board), and 2-year Pediatric Neurology preliminary and 1-year general preliminary programs. We take great pride in our learning environment and highly value the contributions of our residents. Our program is highly flexible and provides approximately 12 months of individualized training time so that residents can truly customize their experience to suit their career goals. Our mission is to produce General Pediatricians and Pediatric Subspecialists who will provide truly exceptional care, be lifelong learners and advocates for their patients and communities, and be committed to continuous improvement of their own practice and the health care system. We want our graduates to be leaders in clinical care and science while applying a scholarly approach to medicine whether it is in an academic setting or in community practice.
