About This Program
The MedStar Health/Georgetown-National Rehabilitation Hospital PM&R Residency Training Program, has a four-year categorical educational curriculum. Residents will spend their PGY1 year alongside the MedStar Washington Hospital Center interns in Preliminary Medicine and will complete PGY2-4 at the MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital.
Our program has many unique features including:
-four elective months including in the PGY2 and PGY3 years
-a musculoskeletal ultrasound track
-a research track with the National Institutes of Health
-a weekly continuity clinic
-regular physician wellness activities
-a broad based curriculum with access to all PM&R subspecialty areas
-in house ACGME accredited sports medicine and brain injury medicine fellowships and a non-accredited cancer rehabilitation medicine fellowship
-pediatric rehabilitation fellowship (and core rotations) at nearby Children’s National Medical Center
-abundant sports event coverage opportunities
-electrodiagnosis training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center
