About This Program
Rusk Rehabilitation at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine offers a three-year residency program to achieve broad clinical competency in PM&R and train future leaders in our field. We recruit twelve residents per year.
Residents treat patients with diverse pathologies across the socioeconomic and age spectrum. Residents are trained at Bellevue Hospital, the nation’s oldest public hospital, the perennially top ranked Rusk Rehabilitation sites, and the Manhattan and Brooklyn Veterans Affairs hospitals. Dedicated faculty and fellows help residents gain inpatient, outpatient and procedural skills. The department sponsors fellowships in both Sports Medicine and Brain Injury Medicine.
Our residents engage in a comprehensive didactic curriculum. Residents lead and participate in specialized career interest groups, such as Women in Medicine, Sports Medicine, Pain Management, and Ultrasound. Residents are supported in completing both a research and a quality improvement project. Additionally, we offer an acupuncture certification track during PGY3 and PGY4 years.
