About This Program
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is part of Ohio State’s world-class Neurological Institute. Our PM&R Residency Program offers four-year categorical and three-year advanced training tracks, with seven positions available for each class. Residents receive training in general and neurorehabilitation, neuromuscular medicine, electrodiagnostics, musculoskeletal ultrasound, interventional and non-interventional pain, pediatric rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics. Rotations include clinical experience in brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple trauma, ortho and spine procedures, neuromuscular diseases, organ transplants and cancer. Resident’s research requirement is developing a quality improvement project and research, such as a poster or paper to present at a national meeting or for publication. Our Department of PM&R has been a leader in caring for those with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke for over 50 years. We are 1 of 7 sites, in the country, designated as Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Model System.
