About This Program
The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center plastic surgery residency program is structured to educate and train residents in both the art and science of plastic surgery. Our residents learn all aspects of plastic surgery, including craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, breast reconstruction, microsurgery, extremity salvage, pediatric plastic surgery, gender affirmation surgery and general reconstruction as well as migraine surgery, pioneered by the faculty of our program. There is a broad exposure to aesthetic surgery throughout the program, including a busy resident cosmetic clinic. All residents participate in basic science, clinical translational and/or epidemiological research through our surgical simulation and basic science laboratories. The residency experience is individualized to provide elective and in-folded fellowship opportunities as well as experiences in global health. Our program is committed to resident wellness. A dynamic educational curriculum aims to ensure excellence in plastic surgery knowledge, preparedness for practice with understanding of the finance of medicine, and with residents themselves trained as surgical educators.
