About This Program

The UVA Health System includes a 604-bed hospital, level I trauma center, NCI-designated cancer center, nationally recognized cancer and heart centers and clinics throughout Virginia. Residents are exposed to all aspects of radiology through our eight sub-specialty areas and learn a disciplined approach to medical problem solving. Many residents choose to stay an additional year for one of our many competitive fellowships. A comprehensive understanding of medical imaging is emphasized, followed by hands-on experience that will challenge residents to assume greater responsibilities as training progresses. We offer dedicated tracks that focus resident’s interests in Research or Global Health as well as a well-developed mini-fellowship program. We also have an Integrated IR residency.

Charlottesville is home to an abundance of cultural, historical, and recreational activities. The region boasts a highly educated workforce, excellent school systems, high quality health care, and affordable living.
