About This Program
The Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Iowa is a four-year ACGME-accredited program. Our program offers exposure to all contemporary treatment types and delivery modalities through a thorough, progressive training approach. Our unique curriculum tailors clinical rotations to meet educational goals and allows residents flexibility to mold their residency education to fit their career goals, ie medical education, public health, clinical research, community practice.
Excellent technical training is available through constant exposure and close collaboration with other specialties related to the treatment of cancer. With expert medical physics, dosimetry and nursing support, residents are free to perform their task of patient care.
Residents graduating from the program can expect to be employed in private practice or in academic medicine as faculty members. The Radiation Oncology program is proud to offer both clinical and research pathways to prospective residents, and benefits from a close relationship with the Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program.
