About This Program

The UM program seeks to provide outstanding training and research opportunities in a collegial and intellectually vibrant setting that consistently helps residents achieve their potential to serve as leaders in the field. Our internationally renowned faculty are devoted teachers and mentors who provide incommensurable opportunities to our trainees. We ensure that every resident becomes an outstanding clinician, and we offer extensive hands-on experience, including multi-disciplinary tumor boards and clinics that range from the standard to the truly esoteric (adrenal and Merkel cell!). Our didactic program includes the standard clinical, biology and physics classes, but also includes training in statistics and palliative care. We also offer a remarkable variety of potential research experiences including clinical, cancer biology, physics, health services, public policy, and more. Our residents spend at least a year researching and present their work at national meetings, publish multiple papers, and emerge as highly sought-after candidates for future positions.
