About This Program

The mission of the residency program at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital is to train the next generation of leaders in radiation oncology. Amongst the largest programs, it provides an environment for the best clinical training with a strong emphasis on clinical and basic science research. The program provides unique experience in the newest technologies in the field including Proton Therapy, MRI-guided Radiotherapy, Adaptive Radiotherapy and high volumes of gynecologic brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy. St. Louis Children’s Hospital, located within our medical center, provides ample pediatric experience. All residents participate in a year of dedicated research with a proven track record for success in the Holman pathway for those interested in basic science research. Our residents present their research at numerous scientific meetings during their training. The multiple grants and national awards received by our trainees demonstrate the commitment and dedication of our faculty to exceptional education and training.
