About This Program

Mayo Clinic was one of the first two institutions in the United States to offer what is now called residency training after medical school over 100 years ago, and remains the largest graduate medical education program in the country. Our internal medicine residency on the Florida campus is in Jacksonville, the fastest growing city for Millennials and the 7th fastest growing city in the US overall with 904,000 people, located 4 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. We provide primary care to a diverse local population, while also being known as a destination medical center for complex diseases and organ transplantation. Our residency has a 100% board passage rate, 100% publication rate for graduates, and 100% match rate for fellowships. Our secret to success is having a relatively small residency program with a large faculty of over 560 physicians and researchers on the Florida campus, with vast resources of Mayo Clinic.
