About This Program
At Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we combine top-notch clinical care with world-class research and education to provide a comprehensive surgical training program. Our residents rotate through a variety of clinical settings – a tertiary care center (BWH), community hospitals (Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and South Shore Hospital), the West Roxbury VA Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Most residents complete a two year research experience during residency in topics ranging from basic science to health services to global surgery. BWH has a long history of producing surgical leaders, and we are looking for applicants who aspire to be future leaders in surgery, at the local, regional, and national levels. The greatest strengths of the Brigham Surgery Residency are our residents and faculty. We have a talented group of residents, and their camaraderie makes for a fantastic surgical training environment.
