About This Program

Our Urology Residency consists of 5 Residents/year, with 6 years of training including a full dedicated research year(GL-4). Our GL-1 residents spend 6 months in our Institute with rotations in Urology(3), Renal Transplantation(2), and Nephrology(1), along with the requisite 6 months of General Surgery. GL-2/3/5 residents run their own services, with assistance from Chief Residents when needed. This allows for direct communication with staff and facilitates early integration into the Department. Our Chief Residents operate 5 days/week and oversee all educational activities. We do over 1,000 robotic operations/year but also have robust open operative experiences, including challenging PNx/IVC Thx/Transplants, and some RPx/RCx are still done open. We have 5 fully supported labs and outstanding resources for outcomes-based research within an environment that is extremely rich for academics. We have leaders/potential mentors in all subspecialties of Urology, and Program Directors with cumulative experience of >50 years in this role.
