About This Program

The Residency in Urology at the University of Pennsylvania consists of a five-year program with rotations at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the following affiliated hospitals: Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center (PVAMC), the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). Our residents compliment is four per year. Rotations, generally of three-month duration, are arranged to provide each resident with a total of twelve months of adult urology chief residency and three months of pediatric urology chief residency. To satisfy the requirements of the American Board of Urology, one of a variety of configurations of post-graduate training must be completed prior to the clinical urology residency. We are currently in a full match program with the Department of General Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
