About This Program

The Urology Residency at UT Southwestern is a 5 (1+4) year program. We accept 5 residents per year and our residents rotate to Clements University Hospital, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas VA Medical Center, and starting in 2019, John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. During a combined 6 month outpatient/research block in the second Urology year, residents are encouraged to pursue a research and/or QI project germane to their own interests and career plans. Approximately 50-75% of our graduates pursue fellowships. We currently have 22 faculty members and 6 full time PA’s, all of whom interact with our trainees. As the only Urology program in DFW/North Texas, we are the primary referral center for all advanced Urological care in the region. We also offer fellowships in FPMRS, MIS/Endourology, Pediatric Urology, Urologic Oncology, and GURS.
