About This Program
The mission of the Mayo Clinic Arizona Orthopaedic Residency Program is to educate and train highly competent and skilled orthopaedic surgeons. Our vision is to develop the most sought after and successful training program that graduates ethical, professional, clinically and technically skilled, orthopaedic surgeons.
Residents receive comprehensive exposure to all orthopedic subspecialties. A favorable faculty to resident ratio enables residents to operate early and often. Case variety is diverse. A strong complement of mid-level providers optimizes the residents’ education to service ratio and call responsibilities. Weekly didactic time is protected and dedicated faculty provides a strong learning environment. Research opportunities are extensive and encouraged. A generous travel policy allows residents to present research regional, national or international conferences. Off-campus rotations within Phoenix ensure a unique exposure to various practice settings, both academic and private. Consequently, graduating residents are well equipped for successful entry into any fellowship or practice model.
